Helping Children in the Classroom to Dream Big through Workplace Giving

At the beginning of every school year, many eager children sit in the front of the classroom armed with No. 2 pencils, wide-ruled paper and all of the other supplies needed for success. Some students never have to worry about not having access to the materials needed for class. However, that is not the case for many children around the U.S.

It鈥檚 not easy to admit you need help 鈥 that your family can鈥檛 afford school supplies. How can a student be properly engaged in a classroom without the basic essentials? Would not having these items change how they dream? Would they still dream about a prosperous future that鈥檚 not achievable without a good education? Or, would they dream about never being bullied again for being 鈥渄ifferent鈥 than the other kids who have school supplies?

If you鈥檙e hungry, homeless or without life鈥檚 essentials, your dreams may be different. A child in a tough situation may dream of just surviving until the next day. We want more for our children. We want kids to dream big, and with an education, they can create a path for their future success. If they have the right tools to succeed in the classroom, their good grades and participation can open the door to infinite possibilities.

Will you join us as we help children to dream big? When you donate through workplace giving, you can partner with us to make sure children in need have a backpack filled with school supplies and books so they can achieve their dreams. Through our multiple Teacher Store locations and U.S. programs, Feed the Children provided $6.8 million worth of school supplies, approximately 65,000 backpacks and more than 869,000 books to children in the U.S. in fiscal year 2016. With your support, we can give even more and to ensure children achieve their dreams.
